Overview
The European Union Trade Mark (EUTM) is valid throughout the EU. Currently, the EU has 27 member states: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Latvian, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, and Slovakia.
The EU Trademark System is mainly regulated by the Council Regulation (EC) No. 207 / 2009 of 26 February 2009 and is governed by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Spain. The official languages are English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. EU trademark registration adopts the principle of "Application First".
